Sure, Analog:Shift is a business built around the love of watches — mostly mechanical watches.
But, in essence, it’s our love for timepieces and timekeeping in general that are the common themes throughout the items we procure. And that includes the love of clocks in general — pocket watches, travel clocks and more.
After all, in the couple hundred years before the First World War, personal timekeeping was all about the pocket watch, and before that, it was larger clocks that were front and center, horologically. We still believe a good clock — especially one that hails from the best design maison — deserves a place in any watch lover’s collection.
This particular piece is a Cartier pocket watch fashioned out of 18k yellow gold. It features a 45mm case with an unsigned crown at 12 o’clock, an acrylic crystal and an incredibly thin profile - coming in at just 6.5mm thick! The silvered guilloche dial features a peripheral ‘railroad’ minute track, ‘Roman’ indices along a silver track, a stylized, blued-steel handset and a ‘France’ signature at 12 o’clock.
Powered by a European Watch & Co. manual-winding movement, this slim pocket watch is surprisingly versatile — tuck it in your waistcoat pocket for a formal event or slip it into a good ol’ five pocket for more casual endeavors — either way it’s a fun and elegant way to tell time!
